Virginia Housing Development Authority's (VHDA) single family loan program provides loans to first-time home buyers at interest rates lower than the rates offered by private lending institutions. The single family division offers both standard 30-year fixed rate mortgage loans (at approximately one-half percent below the market rate) and other loans intended to reduce the costs of ownership in the short term!
